Mervail Ekanga and Kosta Eleftaheriadis, both on debut, were unable to follow Isa’s winning start, despite determined efforts. However, another debutant, Kabrinda Gurung, redressed the balance with an assured win midway through the afternoon. Meanwhile, long time Fight for Peace member Muhammed Mahmood treated those present to his full array of skills, but ultimately lost out on a spilt decision. Speaking after his win, Kabrinda Gurung shared his thoughts on the key ingredients for success in the ring: “You have to just do your own thing and don’t think too much – implement what you’ve learned and listen to your coaches!”

Meanwhile, Kosta Eleftaheriadis summed up the strength and resilience of the Fight for Peace team: “It was my first experience and the more you do it, the better you get. Even if you take a loss like I did today, you have to learn from it.”

It has been a historic year for the Fight for Peace boxing team which has produced a London Junior Development Champion and an England Boxing National Senior Development Champion, in Eni Akingbesote and Dylan Oke, in recent months.
