THE IDEAL NEXT MOVE...
Smith is plotting a stadium showdown in Liverpool
“I’D love to unify. I’d love to just be involved in big fights. As much as there was a lot of pressure on that [Groves] fight I actually enjoyed it, it was a good thinking match and even though I won rounds and lost rounds I enjoyed it as it was going on. I enjoyed the thinking side of it. I like winning but it’s better winning when you’ve had to earn it. In the future, I’m big enough to move up, maybe I can move up and try and be a two-weight world champion.
“There’s a lot of big things I want to do. I’d love to fight in America, I’d love to fight at Anfield.
“Outdoor shows are possible and it’s not just Joshua. You can do it. Kell Brook’s done it. Campbell-coyle done it, Frampton’s done it, Warrington-selby, so it can be done with the right promoting. I’ve always said Anfield is a dream. Even when I’ve said it, it was kind of a dream, you never really think it will be reality but I’ve done the hard part, I’ve got a world title so why can’t I defend it at Anfield?
“Again, I think it just needs the right promoting, the right fight, right undercard and I do think it will sell well.”
