RINGSIDE REST & CARE HOME

-

The help continues to pour in as the residential home edges closer to reality. Have you done your bit yet?

WE’RE delighted to report that the momentum gained last week is showing no signs of slowing down.

Donations have been received from Bob and Lynda Cheeseman of the Freddie Mills Club, thank you so much. We must also thank Croydon Ex-boxers Association, Bournemouth EBA and Manchester EBA for their kind donations. And we must send thanks to Mr John Smith, Mr Amer Deen and Mr M Thomas for their exceptionally generous independent donations.

Special mention to the British Boxing Board of Control for taking the time to forward our letter that explains exactly what we’re doing and how we plan to achieve it to all of the licensed trainers and seconds in the country. Also, a shout out to Martin of Warriorboxing. com, who has offered his invaluable support, experience and guidance regarding merchandise and the possibility of two highly influential contacts within the Houses of Parliament.

It seems news of our campaign has reached America. Former heavyweight contender “Gentleman” Gerry Cooney has proved yet again that his nickname is on the money while offering his services. He is going to send over merchandise like signed gloves and photos that Ringside Rest and Care will be able to auction at events. Thanks, also, to EBA stalwart Harry Scott for working tirelessly to get the word out.

Several promoters have offered their support, including Mo Prior who will put a stand at his shows and sell Ringside Rest and Care merchandise. He is also planning to be sponsored to lose significant weight. Good on you, Mo!

Ringside Rest and Care t-shirts and baseball caps are now available to buy. The t-shirts (£18 + £2 p&p) are available in sizes S, M, L, XL and XXL. The caps, which are all one size, can be purchased for £12 + £2 p&p.

Anyone wishing to buy one, or to offer their help or ideas, should contact Dave Harris on 07947-084-018.

Cheques should be payable to Ringside Rest and Care and be sent to treasurer Paul Fairweather at 114B Hayday Road, Royal Docks, London E16 4AS.
