Shakiel Thompson, the Sheffield southpaw, watched closely by Ben Shalom, picked apart Yailton Neves before the end came with 15 seconds remaining in the fourth. Referee Steve Gray saved him from further punishment just as the towel floated into the ring.

Khaleel Majid drew Alexey Tuhtarov

onto every punch in the book in a six-round shutout victory on the card of Mr Sarginson.

Michael Gomez Jnr landed the more telling blows against a spirited Christian Lopez Flores and was awarded a 60-55 verdict from Steve Gray. Lopez Flores was deducted a point for holding the fifth.

Billy Deniz twice dropped Nicolas Holcapfel in the second round forcing Sarginson to wave it off. The time was 2-57.

The same official was in charge as Jabran Bilal saw off Genadij Krajevskij 40-35. Bilal sent his foe to the canvas in the second but could not inflict further damage. Adam Sircar and Wycombe King both moved to 3-0 with 40-36 wins from Mr Gray over John Spencer and Daniel Borisov respectively.

Sarginson officiated both fights. Debutant Tyson Alaoma had too much for Gary Stables. Mr Gray, predictably, scored it 40-36.
