Alfie wastes no time while knocking out overmatched Phanivong

Cumbria welterweight Alfie Poole, 3-0 (1), led the way with an opening-round stoppage of Malmo’s 40-year-old Mike Phanivong,
1-2 (1) in a bout set for four, while in a slated six, Bearsden super-lightweight Liam Philip,
5-0 (2), didn’t need a great deal longer, banking a second-round stoppage over Aberdeen’s Marek Laskowski, 9-18-2 (1).
Wishaw super-middleweight Darren Johnstone moved to 5-0 by taking all six rounds against York’s Pocklington Rocket
Harry Matthews, 17-68-5 (2), and Dundee’s former Scottish Area champion Paul Kean, 16-2 (2), mirrored that achievement, earning the shutout nod from referee Kenny Pringle at the culmination of his tussle with Middlesbrough’s CJ Wood, 3-13-2 (1).
Irish welter Senan Kelly, 3-0, completed proceedings by taking all four rounds against Carlisle’s Jake Osgood, who slipped to 1-17 as a result.
At the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on an SM Promotions show the following evening, a trio of local favourites all secured fourth successive wins.

George Stewart got the better of Nicaragua’s
