Well-supported Derrick Osaze sent his supporters home happy from Harvey Hadden by claiming a 60-54 win over Middleton’s ultraresilient Darryl Sharp who, despite being under the cosh from the outset and picking up a badly bloodied nose late on, refused to buckle. It was Sharp’s 100th defeat. Newark’s Kevin Parker refereed.

Worksop’s popular Marcus Ellis impressed in taking all four rounds against tough Mexican Fernando Valencia. A nice mixture of shots was more than enough to see his arm raised by third man Chris Dean.

A shutout awarded by the same official was reaped by Nottingham’s JR Smith. He proved both too busy and too accurate for Padiham’s

Seamus Devlin, who picked up a nasty cut to the scalp when heads clashed in the third.

Heanor girl Hannah Jones fell victim to Czech Ester Konecna banking a first insidedistance win in their scheduled six. Backed into a neutral corner, Jones was saved at 1-09 of the fourth by triallist referee Ryan Churchill.

Cruz Perez ended at the halfway stage when trainer Jason Shinfield pulled Spireite out after he was tagged flush by heavy head shots. Referee was Chris Dean.

Selston super-middleweight Joe Collings won 40-35 over Southwark man Victor Edagha who, in his first bout for three years, and sadly not having changed his style one iota, proved dreadful and was docked a point by Mr Churchill for persistent spoiling.

Joel Ducille was scored 39-37 by Mr Dean, the local man having the better of it.
