OLDHAM’S Leyton Collymore extended his unbeaten record to seven fights with a convincing points win over Latvia’s Kristaps Zulgis atop the bill at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester.

Collymore triumphed 60-54 on referee Darren Sarginson’s scorecard against the same opponent he beat over four rounds on his pro debut in October 2021. It was the 26-yearold’s first outing since signing with Black Flash Promotions.

Stockport’s Niall Brown moved to 9-0 with a shutout victory over Lithuania’s Vaidas Balciauskas. Brown produced a really controlled performance from start to finish, earning a 60-54 win for referee Mark Lyson.

Also preserving unblemished records were Bradford’s Peter Naylor and Portugal’s Mauro Silva, both of whom moved to 3-0. Naylor was totally dominant as he repeated his 40-36 debut win over Blackpool’s Jake Darnell in a contest refereed by David Mulholland and scored by Mr Sarginson.

Silva, fighting out of Manchester, had his hand raised by Mr Sarginson after some vicious body shots led to Stainforth’s Jake Bray retiring after round two of a scheduled four.

Blackpool’s Hannah Baggaley suffered defeat against previously winless Patricia Gonzalez of Spain after Mr Mulholland accepted her corner’s retirement after round three of a scheduled four. Baggaley took far too many shots and could not argue with the decision to pull her out.

Two debutants made winning starts to as Middleton’s Garth Ward and Manchester’s George Killeen registered four-round shutouts.

Mr Lyson was in charge as Ward saw off Lithuania’s Genadij Krajevskij, while Mr Sarginson officiated Killeen’s assured victory over Estonia’s Artjom Spatar.
