Airport seeks views on noise action plan

-

» BRISTOL Airport is seeking feedback on a new Draft Noise Action Plan, which sets out actions it will take to control, monitor and mitigate noise levels over the next five years.

Airports must update Noise Action Plans every five years under the EU Environmental Noise Directive. This latest plan is the third produced by Bristol Airport and covers the period 2019 to 2024.

James Shearman, head of sustainability at Bristol Airport, said: “We are very aware that noise can be disturbing for people living near the airport or under the flight paths used by arriving and departing aircraft.

“This Draft Noise Action Plan sets out how we intend to control and, where possible, reduce negative impacts through closer collaboration with airlines and air navigation service providers, improved operating procedures and implementation of new technology.”

The Draft Noise Action Plan is available on www.bristolairport. co.uk. Responses can also be made by email to NAP2018@ bristolairport.com or by writing to Noise Action Plan Consultation, Bristol Airport BS48 3DY.

Consultation runs until October 2, 2018, and final documentation will be published later in the year.
