Spirit of Life was not involved in any disruption at the New Rooms

-

THANK you for your reports in regard the public gospel proclamation outside Wesley’s Chapel during the Pride March. I thought that the short video clip you provided on Bristol Live offered a useful insight into the message being broadcast by Pastor Dia Moodley of Spirit of Life Church.

I am a former member of Spirit of Life Church (now attending Christ Church with St Ewan, Broad Street) and am writing in the hope that you would allow me to add important correctives to the report. Spirit of Life Church was not participating in a protest in partnership with Christian Concern so I am afraid that linkage was fake news. Spirit of Life was not involved with any disruption within the New Rooms and I happen to know opposes such unruly conduct.

Spirit of Life Church delivers a public proclamation of the Christian message each Saturday in Broadmead and was simply continuing that regular practice.

I can also personally report that Spirit of Life is a most loving, caring and welcoming body of Christian believers. It is a church that is authentically inclusive; bringing together people from across Africa, India, the Caribbean, Western and Eastern Europe. It is a remarkable community of wonderful people and in no way deserving of the unpleasant judgemental label that some gossips in our city may like it to receive.

The church is under the leadership of Dia Moodley and Bernard Quaye and would welcome any visitor to Henbury School to hear the beautiful gospel message of hope and reconciliation found through Jesus Christ. Spirit of Life offers the real deal.

Your help in protecting the reputation of a local church going about its task of loving God and their neighbour is much appreciated.
