Man hurt in crash on ma­jor route

ONE man was taken to hos­pi­tal fol­low­ing a crash on one of the main routes be­tween Bris­tol and Bath.

The crash hap­pened shortly af­ter 7am yes­ter­day morn­ing on the A420 Lon­don Road at its junc­tion with Ch­es­ley Hill, just past The Grif­fin Pub.

The ma­jor route be­tween Bris­tol and Bath was closed in both direc­tions for ap­prox­i­mately two hours af­ter re­ports of the in­ci­dent. One car was left over­turned.

Po­lice were called to the scene and closed the road. South Western Am­bu­lance Ser­vice also at­tended, scram­bling a rapid re­sponse ve­hi­cle and am­bu­lance to the scene of the in­ci­dent. One man suf­fered mi­nor in­juries in the ac­ci­dent, and was then taken to Royal Uni­ver­sity Hos­pi­tal, Bath, for treat­ment.
