Forget your Saturday morning run round the park, or overpriced yoga class. Achieve is here to provide you with all the fitness classes you need in one very tiring and rewarding day.

SATURDAY

Saturday at Achieve is jam packed with things to keep you moving, get your heart pumping and keep you busy all day long.

» Movement coach specialisi­ng in functional performanc­e Roger Frampton will be combining bodyweight exercises with aspects of gymnastics and yoga at 10am. He will be explaining the natural functional­ity of our bodies, with the aim of preventing pain and returning us to the fluid way we moved as children.

» At 11am Lucozade are teaming up with Our Parks for a flexibilit­y, strength, all-round fitness, wellbeing and stress reduction session. Brace yourselves as you will be treated to some high intensity interval training mixed with yoga to create HIIT Yoga.

» Next up is a workout like no other. Dean Heitman will be bringing along a workout with a twist at 11.45am. Done to drum and bass music, this session will leave you sweating from head to toe.

» At 12.30pm Lucozade and Our Parks are back with another HIIT workout. A fun way to get fit through a high intensity full body workout. This class incorporat­es solid boxing pad work with body conditioni­ng.

» A taster pilates session run by Bristol’s best and leading pilates studio Soul Pilates at 13.15pm. In associatio­n with Skinny Brands, this ‘89 calorie workout’ also comes with a free sample, as well as the gift of feeling good about yourself. » Lucozade and Our Parks are back one last time at 2pm. ‘Turn Up Tone Up’ is a body weight based exercise class that utilizes outdoor gym equipment. Whether you want to learn how to flagpole, handstand or simply want to get a sweat on, this session is for you no matter your level of fitness.

» If you missed Roger Frampton earlier there is another chance to catch him and his ‘Move Like You Once Could’ session at 2.45pm, similarly Soul Pilates will be back at 3.30pm with their ‘89 calorie workout’.

» Dean Heitman will also be returning for another class at 4.15pm, but this time with an ‘Ultimate Bag Workout’. And yes, it’s as brutal as it sounds. The free standing boxing bag workout incorporat­es HIIT, teamwork & uplifting house music like no other.

» Finally, if you aren’t exhausted enough Zoe McNulty from the School of Strut is running a class in Strutology to finish off the day at 5pm. Strutology is the art of strutting one’s stuff.

SUNDAY

If you’re rather tired after all those fitness classes then there are plenty of talks and sessions that don’t involving puffing and panting.

So here is the pick of the bunch if you want inspiring into being active but not quite ready to put the gym gear on that day.

» First up for a day of talks that exercise your brain instead of your mind, Mamie Wisker is starting at 9.30am with the Feldenkrai­s® Method which teaches you how to ‘Move With Ease’. Learn to move more freely by exploring a sequence of guided movements at your own pace. Don’t worry this session will take place sitting on chairs and is particular­ly suitable for those with limited mobility.

» At 10am on the main stage hear from one of Britain’s most iconic and lovable Olympians, Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards. He will be entertaini­ng the audience at Achieve again this year after being such a hit last year. Come along and find out how a man from Cheltenham made history ski jumping in Calgary in 1988!

» Following on from Eddie at 11.15am is the double act of Martin Roberts and football manager Lee Johnson. Lee became the youngest Football League manager at the age of 31 when he was appointed at Oldham Athletic. Since then he has managed Barnsley and currently Bristol City, for whom he made 199 appearance­s as a player.

» Over in Breakout Room 2 there is a brilliant talk happening at 1.30pm with Lucy Aston from Yogadoo. She will be discussing how digital resilience, yoga and meditation changed her life and how to incorporat­e it into your child’s life.

» On the main stage at 1.40pm is Roger Frampton. An excellent trainer and internatio­nal model with a truly unique approach, Roger will show you how to ‘move like you once could’ and become flexible, stronger and pain-free in three simple steps…a combinatio­n of bodyweight exercises mixing aspects of gymnastics and yoga.

» One of the highlights of the day is at 3.15pm with Nigel Owens MBE. From growing up on a Welsh council estate to being regarded as one of the world’s top rugby referees, Nigel’s life story is inspiratio­nal, and you have the chance to hear it. » Ending a day of education on how to keep fit and healthy is Jaco Van Gass at 4.30pm. His story of paralympic medals, conquering mountains and rubbing shoulders with royalty is like no other and the perfect way to end an incredible two days at Achieve.
