✒ THE Great Western Society promotes interest in the former Great Western Railway and, at Didcot Railway Centre in Oxfordshire, has preserved a representative collection of locomotives, rolling stock and small relics. The Bristol Group of the society specialises in signalling and has re-erected on the site at Didcot signal-boxes from Frome and Radstock, which are regularly demonstrated to visitors.
The group holds a monthly meeting open to all. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 13, and will be given by Gerald Nichols, who will be presenting Mark Warburton’s Slides of Somerset and Devon Branch Lines at BAWA, 589 Southmead Road, Filton (7.30pm).
