New smokehouse beefs up Triangle

-

MEAT lovers in Bristol are in for a real treat as a popular smokehouse chain is opening a branch here.

Bare Grills, which has restaurants in Taunton and Weston-super-Mare, has announced that it will open its third site on the Clifton Triangle.

It will be a fairly like-for-like swap, as it replaces Grillstock, which closed in October after months of uncertainty and speculation.

And in a similar fashion to the former Bristol brand, Bare Grills will be a haven for people who like nothing more than a juicy steak or dirty burger.

Bare Grills founder Pete Griffiths, who was once Grillstock’s operations manager before the company’s problems began, said:

“We opened our first branch in Weston four years ago and it was really popular so we opened a second in Taunton two years ago, which has gone just as well.

“A Bristol site has been a long time coming. We’ve been waiting for the perfect spot for a while and we feel that this is it.

“Our menu will be in a similar style to Grillstock and other smokehouses but we will place a real emphasis on using as much local produce as possible.”

Options on the menu look to be The Filthy Pig burger, which comes with two beef patties topped with melted cheese and bacon, the smoked brisket which is slow cooked for 16 hours and the £35 BBQ tower.

Pete said he’s aiming to open the restaurant on December 7.
