LIAM BAKES

Channel 4, 8pm TV CHEFFING goes urban with this latest offering starring ‘Liam from Bake Off’, aka Liam Charles, a firm favourite from last year’s series.

He only baked his first cake six years ago – he’s only 20 – and now he’s got his own series to showcase his taste for creative and crazy flavour combos.

Filmed striding down an inner city London street, graffiti on the walls, with rap music our soundtrack, this is clearly aiming at a slightly different audience from the likes of Mary Berry or Nigella’s shows.

His kitchen studio is more East London flat with chalkboard and good transport links, rather than say, luxurious country house with roaring fire and several dogs.

His mates text about a party and he replies: “Yeah bruv, bringing a treat.”

His bakes are “the badder the better” and he rates his fizzy cola eclairs as “banging”.

This is hip hop meets mascarpone and piping bags – we always knew cooking was cool...

PEOPLE JUST DO NOTHING

BBC2, 10pm THIS hit Bafta-winning BBC mockumentary returns for a fifth series of misery and bad behaviour in West London suburbia.

When we last saw the Kurupt FM crew, there was a brief wedding ceremony for Grindah and Miche, with the reception turning into a daytime rave.

But then Steves returned to the radio station to find that it had been raided by the police and he was arrested for drug possession.

Joining the newlyweds now, Miche (Lily Brazier) says married life is a “fairytale”, while Grindah (Allan Mustafa) disagrees. He’s had a “rough year”.

Meanwhile, DJ Beats (Hugo Chegwin) has his own problems after having a baby.

“Yeah she was a massive mistake. Am I going to get a vasectomy? Yes I am.”

Elsewhere, Chabuddy G (Asim Chaudhry) appears to be having more luck with new girlfriend Carol – Miche’s mum.

In this episode, the boys resort to desperate measures to stay on the air and Miche gets some bad news.

CORONATION STREET ITV, 7.30pm & 8.30pm

THE twins’ foster parents are taking them to Lapland for Christmas – how can anyone compete with that? The whole thing moves Abi to come to the conclusion that the twins are better off without her and she turns to a bottle of vodka.

Meanwhile, Tracy and Steve are stunned to find out the details of Amy’s contract.

Elsewhere, Nick and Carla are not seeing eye to eye over the future of the business, with Nick refusing to be pushed around.
