Pisano: We’re ready for Birmingham

-

EROS Pisano says City must build and kick-on from their recent results in the Sky Bet Championship, as they prepare to take on Birmingham City this weekend.

City are unbeaten in their last two games with a never-say-die attitude inspiring them to a remarkable win at Ipswich Town before a 1-1 draw at home to Millwall.

That has meant four points from the two games, with a potential seven from three on the cards should City get the win against the Blues at St Andrew’s tomorrow afternoon.

“We have to continue what we have done in the last two games but improve and continue,” Pisano told bcfc.co.uk. “We fight and never give up, especially as you saw against Ipswich. We have to think about Birmingham now and I think we are ready for them.”

The last two matches saw the long-awaited return of the Italian right-back, who missed months of action after suffering a hip flexor injury.

It was a time of “frustration” for Pisano, but being focused on the job at hand, to be ready and fit again, was the only thing on his mind. “I’m very glad (to be back),” he said. “When I came back against Ipswich it was a good win and Millwall was a difficult game. We deserved more but we have to continue our way and now we have to think about Birmingham City.”

He added: “You have to stay focused on your target. It’s difficult to be out for a long time but when you come back you have to help the team and that’s what I want to do. I always try to do my best whether I play or don’t play through injury because I want to come back as early as possible.”
