TODDLER Tudor Asandei is looking forward to a very special Christmas - after being crowned the winner of the Bristol Post Baby of the Year competition.

Two-and-a half year-old Tudor, of Bradley Stoke, scooped the top prize with a staggering 42,000 votes.

This year’s competition was one of the most successful yet, with more than 700 entries and a total of 609,511 votes cast.

Mum Nicoleta and dad Ionut are now looking forward to spending some of the £600 in Tesco vouchers they received as the winner’s prize on making Christmas Day extra special for their young son.

Dad Ionut is a keen photographer, taking many photos of Tudor.

And after seeing the competition, the couple decided to enter their photogenic youngster in the contest in the 19-35 months category.

Nicoleta said: “We are over the moon that Tudor has won.

“He is a typical two year-old boy and likes cars and trains.

“To win the top prize of £600 is just amazing and will make such a difference to our Christmas this year.

“And of course Tudor will be getting some extra presents as a result of his win.

“We are very proud of him and it is the first time we have entered him in anything like this.”

As well as an overall winner, the competition also had prizes in four categories - 0-9 months, 10-18 months, 19-35 months and three to five years.

Each category winner received £100 in Tesco vouchers.

Winner of the 0-9 month age category was little Eva Ross-

Colfer while the winner of the 10-18 month category was Robbie-John Thorne.

Topping the 19-35 month category was overall winner Tudor Asandei while Kinga Przechodzka took the crown for the 3 - 5 year category.

Bristol Post regional promotions manager Brenda Hennessey said: “Baby of the Year 2018 has proved one of our most successful Baby of the year competitions.

“All the parents were lovely and their babies and toddlers so cute.”
