Children’s cards will help to spread firm’s festive greetings

-

CHRISTMAS cards designed by a pupil from a primary school in Yate will adorn the desks of businesses around the Bristol region after a competition run by a local human resources firm.

The winning card was drawn by seven-year-old Nylah Milton-Oxley, from Yate, a Year Two pupil at Broadway Infant School.

She was the overall winner in the competition run by The HR Dept Bristol, North Somerset and Bath, which provides outsourced human resources advice and support to small and medium-sized businesses in the region.

Alongside the excitement of having her design printed and sent out to 350 of the company’s clients, Nyla also won two tickets to the We The Curious exhibition centre in Bristol.

Runners-up were reception pupils Victoria Moryto, aged four, and Ruby Walters, five; year one pupils Stanley Scott, five, and Bethan Wyatt, six; and year two pupil Poppy Guest, also six, who all took home national book tokens.

Special recognition went to Victoria, who won crayons and a colouring book for an outstanding design despite being one of the youngest pupils in the school.

School head Juliet Lambert said: “It’s a wonderful thing for Nyla to have her design printed into so many Christmas cards and it’s been lovely for the children to focus on a creative, festive competition.

“Merry Christmas to everyone from the staff and the children at Broadway Infant School.”
