CRIBBS scored three times in the closing stages to clinch a 4-2 victory at Saltash United in a delayed FA Vase third-round tie, and will now be at home to Sholing in the last 32 of the national competition.

George Kellow’s early penalty put Cribbs in front, but Lee Phillips and Ryan Richards struck to give Saltash a lead they held until Dan Spicer equaised from an 82nd-minute free-kick.

Cribbs regained the lead following a goalmouth scramble, then Sol Wanjau-Smith added the fourth in stoppage-time after the Satash goalkeeper lost possession from a throw-in back to him.

Cribbs and Willand Rovers are the only Toolstation League sides left in the Vase after Cadbury Heath found themselves on the wrong end of a remarkable scoreline at Springfield, where visitors St Austell won 8-4, having been 3-0 up at the break.

Sacha Tong scored a hat-trick for Heath, whose other goal came from George Boon.

In the Toolstation Premier, Bridgwater Town’s lead at the top shortened to one point after a 5-3 defeat at Buckland Athletic.

Unbeaten Westbury United are in second spot after goals from Callum Demkiv (2) and Josh Ferguson secured a 3-1 home win against Brislington, who replied through Sol Shearer.

Fifth-placed Clevedon Town gained an impressive 4-1 win at Bridport, thanks to goals from Lucas Vowles (2), Syd Camper and Archie Ferris. Leighton Thomas had equalised for Bridport in the first half.

Kalian Gould’s 35th=minute strike gave Shepton Mallet the lead at home to Hallen, who drew level just after the restart through a fine Dan Charman strike.

Hallen had a late penalty appeal turned down, and their disappointment increased when Liam Dempsey diverted a cross from Francois Allen into his own net to give Shepton the winner.

Joe Brimble gave struggling Hengrove Athletic the lead at home to Chipping Sodbury, who hit back to win 2-1 with goals from George Box and Joe White.

Odd Down won 3-1 at Wellington, while Roman Glass St George suffered a 2-0 defeat at Bradford Town. Jack Witcombe struck in the first half for Bradford, before a superb free-kick from Matt Morris in the second period secured the three points.

First Division leaders Cheddar won 2-0 at Longwell Green Sports, thanks to an own goal and an Adam Jones strike.

Second-placed Calne Town had goals from Stuart Windsor and Matt Hudson, as well as an own goal, in a 3-0 success at Portishead Town.

Keynsham Town remain in third place after Dan Spill’s second-half header clinched a 1-0 home win against Devizes Town.

Oldland Abbotonians lost 2-0 at Warminster Town, whose goals came from Martin Johnson and Jack Miluk, while Bishop Sutton crashed to a 6-1 defeat at Wincanton Town.

» In Hellenic League Division One West, mid-table Almondsbury won 5-0 at nearby Tytherington Rocks.

All the goals came in the second half as Alex Bisp (2), Henry Greenbury, Ashley Knight and Lewis Shepherd found the net.

» The wet and windy weather resulted in many postponements n the Somerset County League premier Division.

Nailsea & Tickenham moved into second place, two points behind Fry Club, with a 1-0 triumph at Middlezoy Rovers. The goal came just after the half-hour, when Gary Freeman flicked the ball on for Luke Osgood to smash home. In the only other top-flight game played, second-bottom Clutton won 3-0 at home to Nailsea United. There was a much fuller programme of games in Division One, where second-placed Saltford kept up the pressure on leaders Bridgwater Town Reserves with a 2-1 home win against Keynsham Town Reserves.
