Joe recovering after danceathon

-

A RADIO presenter said he felt like he had run a marathon the morning after dancing 12 hours for charity.

Joe Lemer was shaking his stuff at The Mall in Cribbs Causeway for The BBC Radio Bristol Alive Appeal.

Crowds gathered to see Joe, who presents the station’s 5am to 6.30am show, as he donned 12 different fancy dress outfits over the course of the danceathon.

Donations are still being counted but the team at BBC Radio Bristol hope it will bring them closer to their aim of raising £50,000 for local charity Alive, funding 300 activity sessions in care homes and day centres, along with all the equipment needed.

“It felt like I had a just run another marathon!” Joe said.

“It was a really fun day, hard work, achy legs and back but I had utter determination. The response was great on the day, it really helped to spur me on and I was very grateful to those that cheered me on.”
