Reilly strikes twice for Development side
» BRISTOL Rovers Development ran out 4-2 winners against Walsall Under-23s in a Central League Cup game at Yate Town’s ground yesterday afternoon.
Gavin Reilly gave Rovers an early lead, but Walsall equalised before the break after the home side failed to clear a corner.
In the second half, Alex Jakubiak’s composed finish and a curling effort from Sam Matthews put Rovers 3-1 up.
An error from goalkeeper Alexis Andre-Jr gifted Walsall a second goal, but Reilly struck again near the end to secure victory for Rovers.
Summer signing Tareiq HolmesDennis was one of several first-team squad players in the Development side, as he looks to build up his fitness after injury.
