Murder charge after man stabbed at block of flats

AMAN has been charged with murder following the discovery of a man’s body at a block of flats in Easton last week.

Thirty-two-year-old Bashir Abdullah, was found with serious injuries at a flat in Lansdowne Court at around 5.15pm on Thursday.

A post-mortem examinatio­n confirmed that he had died as a result of being stabbed.

Jamal Sheik-Mohammed, of Lansdowne Court, has been charged with Bashir’s murder. The 51-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Bristol Magistrate­s’ Court today.

The family of Bashir Abdullah have released a photograph of their beloved son.

Senior Investigat­ing Officer DI Mike Buck said: “Our thoughts go out to the friends and family of Bashir who are going through a terrible ordeal.

“Our investigat­ion is focusing on finding out exactly how and why he died.

“There will be a continuing police presence in the area over the weekend and I’d like to reassure residents that we’re treating it as a contained incident, so there is no wider risk to the public.
