Mur­der charge after man stabbed at block of flats

AMAN has been charged with mur­der fol­low­ing the dis­cov­ery of a man’s body at a block of flats in Eas­ton last week.

Thirty-two-year-old Bashir Ab­dul­lah, was found with se­ri­ous in­juries at a flat in Lans­downe Court at around 5.15pm on Thurs­day.

A post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion con­firmed that he had died as a re­sult of be­ing stabbed.

Ja­mal Sheik-Mo­hammed, of Lans­downe Court, has been charged with Bashir’s mur­der. The 51-year-old has been re­manded in cus­tody and is due to ap­pear be­fore Bris­tol Mag­is­trates’ Court to­day.

The fam­ily of Bashir Ab­dul­lah have re­leased a pho­to­graph of their beloved son.

Se­nior In­ves­ti­gat­ing Of­fi­cer DI Mike Buck said: “Our thoughts go out to the friends and fam­ily of Bashir who are go­ing through a ter­ri­ble or­deal.

“Our in­ves­ti­ga­tion is fo­cus­ing on find­ing out ex­actly how and why he died.

“There will be a con­tin­u­ing po­lice pres­ence in the area over the week­end and I’d like to re­as­sure res­i­dents that we’re treat­ing it as a con­tained in­ci­dent, so there is no wider risk to the pub­lic.

“If any­one has in­for­ma­tion which would be rel­e­vant to our in­ves­ti­ga­tion, please get in touch.”
