Wrong postcode written on new sign

A NEWLY erected road sign in an inner-city area of Bristol has surprised and angered some residents for displaying the wrong postcode.

The sign was installed last week on the junction of Nine Tree Hill and Cheltenham Road in Stokes Croft – an area located within the BS1 area of the city.

But, a picture of the sign sent to the Post this week from a member of the public shows the sign says the road is in the BS9 area instead.

“Stokes Croft is on the move to BS9,” commented one local. “Maybe it’s a sign of the times.”

However the sign may not be there for long as the city council has been notified of the error.
