Little Stoke win a thriller at Rockleaze

IN a cracking game, Little Stoke won 4-3 at Rockleaze Rangers.

Matt Tovey opened the scoring with a sixth-minute strike for Little Stoke. Rangers got the equaliser on 27 minutes with an angled drive from Dan Webb.

The home side scored again on 32 minutes when Rory Langdon headed a corss to the far post back across goal for Webb to nod in.

Webb had the chance to complete his hat-trick on 36 minutes, but fired a penalty over the crossbar. The visitors drew level on 49 minutes when Ethan Tucker’s cross was smashed home by Russ Church.

Little Stoke made it 3-2 on 59 minutes when Tucker fired home after the first shot was blocked. It became 4-2 on 69 minutes when Rangers gave away a penalty and Jordan Yeo’s thunderous shot struck the underside of the crossbar on its way in.

Rangers pushed hard to get back in the game, but their third goal only arrived in stoppage-time when Ali Boyer scrambled the ball home.

Hanham Athletic’s poor run continued when they went down 3-0 at home to Patchway Town.

Dave Talbot’s header gave Patchway a 25th-minute lead, and Joss Morris added a second just before the break after a poor kick by goalkeeper Mason Hawkins. It was not Hawkins’ day as he failed to judge a long goal-kick from Patchway defender Ash Wells and Joe Dolby was there to make it 3-0.

Henbury lost 2-1 at home to second-placed Frampton United, despite taking the lead through a fifth-minute own goal. Sean Lawson equalised on 37 minutes, and he scored what proved to be the winner early in the second half.

Reece Evans scored for Southmead CS Athletic in a 3-1 defeat at Hardwicke, who had ap layer sent off when 3-0 up in the second half.

Wick had a 4-2 win at home to bottom side Gala Wilton. Sam Thomas gave Wick a 22nd-minute lead, only for Gala to quickly equalise through Dan Creed. Dan Stephens put Wick back in front on 40 minutes, and Charlie Stevens headed in a third a minute later. In the second half, Joe Thomas made it 4-1, before Creed scored a late penalty for the visitors.

AEK Boco suffered a 3-1 defeat at Broadwell Amateurs. Harry Williams opened the scoring on two minutes for Broadwell and went on to complete a hat-trick. Boco got a late consolatio­n through Harvey Sealey.
