Stereophonics to play arboretum gig
THE Stereophonics are arguably one of Britain’s best live bands.
With countless hits to their name including Maybe Tomorrow, Dakota and Have a Nice Day, the Welsh rockers have a worldwide following and last year played a massive UK arena tour.
Since their Best Newcomer Brit Award in 1998 in acknowledgment of their debut album, Word Gets Around, they went on to become quite possibly the UK’s most popular rock band of the new millennium.
And later this year we will have the chance to watch them just 30 to 45 minutes away from Bristol, in a truly stunning setting.
The Forestry Commission has just announced that the four-piece will be playing Westonbirt Arboretum as part of Forest Live, an annual series which brings top acts to the luscious grounds.
Forest Live is a major outdoor live music series held every summer by Forestry Commission England in seven beautiful forests.
More than 1.75 million people have attended a forest gig in the past 18 years, with money raised from ticket sales helping to look after the nation’s forests sustainably.
Stereophonics will be joining Hacienda Classical and Paul Weller, the other two acts to have been announced in the 2019 series so far.
The gig, which is sure to sell out, will take place on June 13 at Westonbirt Arboretum near Tetbury.
Tickets, priced at £55 (plus a £6 booking fee) go on sale at 9am on January 18.
