Three routes for all abilities at Rotary charity walk and run
PEOPLE are being urged to pull on their sturdy shoes ready for the annual Nailsea and Backwell Rotary Club charity walk and run.
The event on June 9 , now in its eighth year, has raised more than £120,000 for local good causes since its launch.
Last year saw more than 300 people take part, and organisers are hoping in 2019 to pass the £150,000 mark.
Entrants can participate alone, with family or friends, or as part of a fundraising activity for their own cause.
Registration is £7 for over-18s and free for children.
Everyone completing one of the three courses will receive a medal and certificate of achievement and water and fruit will be provided on route.
Three routes are available for people to try. The Nailsea Stroll (5km) is approximately three miles and is mostly on the level and is pushchair and wheelchair friendly.
The Nailsea 10k, at approximately six miles, is for those preferring a longer, slightly more challenging route.
The 20k Nailsea Challenge, covering 12 miles, is for fitter, more experienced walkers and runners who like a challenge.
There are also two communal walks covering a 5km and 10km route. The 10k route starts at 10.30am and the 5km at 11am, and people are advised to register early as places on each are limited.
All routes start and finish at Scotch Horn Centre, Nailsea.
The Rotary club provides maps and instructions as well as signed routes, a guidance telephone number and a separate emergency number.
