Sunday football Sportsman keep the heat on Redbridge

SPORTSMAN kept up the pressure on Redbridge at the top of the Bristol Premier Sunday League Premier Division with a 5-1 win at Lebeqs Sunday, whose goal came from Craig Wilson.

Sportsman are now five points behind the leaders with five games remaining, while Redbridge have four matches left.

Warwick won 3-1 at home to bottom side BAWA Athletico, thanks to goals from Thomas Gould, Joe Weston and Josh Meacock. Ben Beecroft scored for Athletico.

In Division One, Galenicals maintained their slim chance of catching 3 Lions at the top with a 7-1 home win against Bristol Rangers, whose marksman was Tommy Sweeten.

Two goals from Bradley Wilson gave Bristol Jaguars a 2-0 victory at SWYD United.

Steve Burke and Tom Peters were on target as Lockstock United won 2-1 at Kingswood Athletic, whose goal came from Leon Cunningham.

A walkover from DRG Frenchay assured 3 Lions Reserves of the Division Two title, while Jack Oaten (2), Warren Russell (2), Louis Daniel and Calum Rogers gave Mendip Broadwalk a 6-2 win at Jolly Colliers.

AFC Lodekka boosted their Division Three promotion bid with a 5-2 home win against BAWA Sports, with their goals from Kurt Leach (2), Samuel Preece (2) and Charlie Carter. Rhys Dunn and Lewis de Courcy replied for Sports.

Jake Williams (2) and Tom Hippisley were among the scorers as Redbridge Sunday Reserves won 4-2 at Fishponds Town Wizards, whose goals came from Jon Stokes and Dan Mullins.

In Division Four, goals from Liam Hunter and Ben Wright earned Avon Plate a point from a 2-2 draw against Yate Rangers, for whom Adam Thurston scored twice. Digital Dash beat Badocks Wood 2-1.

In the ID Styles Cup, Whitchurch Sports are through to the final after a 5-1 win against South Side.

In the Presidents Cup, four goals from Matthew Troth and one from Jack Coggins helped Longreach Athletic to a 6-4 win against Shadwell Rovers, whose marksmen were Steve Fielding, Sam Ford, Daniel Rickets and Martin Stevens.
