Suburban Avonmouth go on a goal spree against Mangotsfie­ld

KYLE Buffery bagged a brace as Avonmouth reignited their hopes of a top-two finish by ending AFC Mangotsfie­ld’s long winning run with an 8-0 win.

Ben Fry, Reece Purnell, Louis Curtis, Rhys O’Donovan and Ash Bennett were the other Avonmouth marksmen, while there was also an own goal.

Bromley Heath United move five points clear at the top with a 3-2 victory against St Aldhelms at Headley Park.

For the third week in a row, Ashton United lost by the odd goal, going down 3-2 at home to Bristol Bilbao, whose goals came from Chris Wynn, Nathan Stokes and Nick Joyce.

At Hillside Gardens, Rockleaze Rangers Reserves beat Easton Cowboys 3-1.

Premier Two leaders Stoke Gifford United were without a game, which allowed second-placed MPK Lofts to narrow the gap at the top with a 2-0 win over AFC Brislingto­n Reserves. Player-manager Simon Bone and Josh Smith scored.

Port of Bristol moved into third place courtesy of a 4-0 home win over Almondsbur­y Reserves.

Josh Clifton was promoted to the first team and he hit a hat-trick as Fishponds OB beat visitors AFC Hartcliffe 4-0. Warren Collins was also on target.

The bottom two teams, Cadbury Heath Reserves and Ridings High, drew 2-2 at Springfiel­d.

Division One leaders Stoke Rangers bounced back from their first defeat of the season with a 10-0 win at AFC Mangotsfie­ld Reserves. Matt Parker led the scoring with a hat-trick and the other goals came from Paul Noyes (2), James Fitzpatric­k, Sam Peplow, Callum Bagley and Jason Stackwell.

Rockleaze Rangers A matched the leaders with a 10-1 win at Hillside Gardens against St Aldhelms Reserves to move into third place.

Ben Curtis struck a consolatio­n goal for Wanderers in a 6-1 defeat at home to North Bristol Trust.

Keynsham Town A moved up to fourth by winning the derby with Bristol Telephones Reserves 3-1.

Division Two leaders Cosmos went down 4-2 at Bedminster Cricketers, who raced into a 4-0 lead thanks to goals from Tom Pugsley, Wayne Rose, Frankie Dicks and an own goal. Cosmos hit back with two late goals.

Third-placed Stoke Gifford United Reserves narrowed the gap on Park Knowle with a 3-0 win at Long Ashton Reserves.

Avonmouth Reserves took the lead at the BAWA against Corinthian­s Sports, who hit back to equalise before half-time through Rob Nash. Sports scored three times in the second half to win 4-1 with goals from Jordan Hubbard (2) and Jack Watts. Joel Edwards, Luis Balcazar and George Brehm were on target for Old Cothamians Reserves in a 3-0 win against Bromley Heath United Reserves.

Ashley Williams scored twice and missed a last-minute penalty which would have gave Fishponds OB Reserves a point at Little Stoke Reserves.

Port of Bristol Reserves shortened the gap on Division Three leaders Filton Athletic Reserves with a 4-1 home win over Lockleaze Community.

Henley Bernard, Adam Buckley and Gregg Carson scored for Rockleaze Rangers B in a 3-2 win at Brandon Sports.

AFC Mangotsfie­ld continued their rise up the table into the promotion race with a 7-1 win at Tytheringt­on Rocks Reserves, while Imperial Reserves won 2-0 at Old Georgians Reserves. Shane Hobbs scored twice for Bristol Phoenix who moved level with leaders Cadbury Heath A at The top of Division Four with a 4-3 victory. Nicky Evans and Andrew Dickinson also scored for Phoenix, while Brae Williams, Dave Pike and Brad Boyd replied for the leaders.

Josh Chilcott and Sam Hughes scored for Lawrence Weston Reserves in a 4-2 defeat at home to Parson Street OB Reserves.

Tom Trimble (2), Sulayman Mohammed, Yemi Oladimeji, Connor O’Neil and an own goal scored for Wessex Wanderers Reserves in a 6-0 win at TC Sports.

Mark Lippiatt completed a hattrick in vain as Socius United went down 6-5 at Cosmos A. Jack Whineham and George Cotter also scored for Socius.

Stoke Gifford United A beat Cutters Friday Reserves 6-2 at North Road.
