City centre cafe outlet to close

-

A STARBUCKS in Bristol city centre will soon close, just days after it was announced another of the company’s outlets has shut.

The Wine Street cafe closed for good on Saturday, and its Cabot Circus outlet will soon follow suit.

A member of staff, who did not want to be named, told the Post all employees were recently informed of the closure, which came as a “huge shock”.

And a spokesperson for the company confirmed it will be leaving the site for good at the end of this week.

They said: “We regularly review our store portfolio to ensure each of our stores meets the needs of our local customers while contributing to a healthy business growth.

“We can confirm our Cabot Circus store is closing this week.

“We are grateful to all of our customers in the area for their loyalty over the years.

“Their nearest Starbucks store will now be at Temple Meads or Horsefair.

“Whenever we close a store, our priority is always supporting our partners (employees) through the transition, including offering them positions within the wider Starbucks business.”

The cafe, which is on the top floor of the shopping centre, will close on Sunday.

Starbucks is an American coffee company and coffeehouse chain founded in Seattle in 1971.

As of early 2019, the company operates more than 30,000 locations worldwide.

Its Bristol outlets after this closure will be at the Horsefair, Temple Gate, Clifton Down Shopping Centre, Bristol Temple Meads and The Mall at Cribbs Causeway .
