BRISTOL CITY PLAYER RATINGS

-

DAN BENTLEY - 5

Should have done better when parrying a cross-shot from Bela straight to the feet of Hogan in the first half, who needs no invitation to score against the Robins. Distribution was too slow at times. JACK HUNT - 6

Hit-and-miss early on as he lost possession of the ball in the run-up to the equaliser before getting forward well and almost releasing Diedhiou in on goal. Several good crosses but also struggled at times against the impressive Bellingham.

ASHLEY WILLIAMS - 8

Plenty of brilliant interceptions - not least to cut out several low crosses as the City full-backs were too easily beaten. Fantastic goal-line clearance to deny Bellingham, too, in the first half. Some great passes late on as City besieged the Blues goal.

NATHAN BAKER - 6

Not at his best and quiet for large periods as he battled Jutiewicz for aerial supremacy. Few blocks and unable to win the ball as high up the pitch as normal. JAY DASILVA - 6

Little chance to get forward and showed too much space to direct opponent Bela at times - particularly as the winger ran past the Robins full-back to shoot in the area and equalise.

JAMIE PATERSON - 7

Fantastic read, poach and finish on 40 seconds and also right up there for tackles completed across the game. Close with a cross-shot.

HAN-NOAH MASSENGO - 5

Got more of the ball than at QPR but was unable to impact the game as he would have liked. Tidy possession play but we needed to see more from him. Replaced by Nagy on 65 minutes.

KOREY SMITH - 6

Showed his class with several neat touches in midfield but struggled at times to cope with the gritty challenges of Gardner and Sunjic. Lucky to not be booked for one crude tackle in the second period.

NICLAS ELIASSON - 6

Fewer crosses than normal, though hamstrung by being pushed wide on the left for long periods with Weimann on the other side of the pitch. One great set-piece found Williams late on but the centre-back couldn’t score.

ANDI WEIMANN - 5

Shocking error to head into his own net and too often the final pass was lacking from him. Overran the ball but worked hard for the team throughout at least. FAMARA DIEDHIOU - 6

Showed some good footwork early on but so little service came his way. Won so many aerial balls but no one read the flick-ons. Missed a gilt-edged chance late on with ten minutes to go, though. SUBSTITUTES

NAHKI WELLS (for Hunt, 57 mins) - 6 Came on at 57 minutes and was unable to make anything with the threaded passes that came to his feet. Will hope for more space and crosses in future.

ILIP BENKOVIC (for Dasilva, 57 mins) 5

Got the final half-an-hour as the full-backs were withdrawn. Was not strong enough in the challenge late on as Jutkiewicz scored in injury time..

ADAM NAGY (for Massengo, 66 mins) 6

Replaced Massengo on 65 minutes and showed some signs of rustiness. Tidy on the ball but not enough creativity or effect to his play.
