Rangers go goal crazy in second half

- Gloucestershire County League

ROCKLEAZE Rangers turned in an unbelievable second-half performance at Hillside Gardens to run out 7-0 winners against Hanham Athletic after a goalless first 45 minutes.

Jordan Dent opened the floodgates in the 46th minute, flicking the ball home following a corner, and the same player scored again on 64 minutes with a fierce drive from the edge of the box.

Nick Jones made it 3-0 three mintues later and two minutes after that Dent set up Dan Webb for the first of his three goals.

Webb got his second on 72 minutes, substitute Jay Connor scored the sixth with a superb lob and Webb rounded off the scoring on 84 minutes with his hat-trick goal.

The victory saw Rangers move into a second place in the table above Frampton, who were held to a 1-1 home draw by fourth-placed Wick.

The visitors had much the better of the first half and went ahead after 12 minutes when Sam Thomas scored following a corner.

Frampton equalised through Jack Bartman two minutes into the second half following a great run by Manolo Espada. Wick had chances to take all three points, but Sam Thomas shot straight at the goalkeeper when well placed and right at the death Joe Thomas flashed a header just wide.

Bromley Heath lost 1-0 at home to leaders Sharrpness in a game which spoiled by a strong crosswind.

Dan Gayner scored the goal with a 30th-minute penalty, but the home side had their chances. Dan Fowler walked away with his hands covering his face after shooting straight at goalkeeper Dan Hobbs in the fourth minute and Fowler fired another gilt-edged opportunity wide on 61 minutes, while Jay Malpas’ flying 88th-minute header just cleared the crossbar.

Henbury lost 1-0 at Gala Wilton where John Clay scored in the first minute, while Little Stoke slumped to a 4-0 home defeat against Hardwicke, whose scorers were Steve Bick (2), Will Matthews and Keiron Squires

AEK Boco drew 2-2 at home to struggling Broadwell Amateurs.

Adan Fowler gave the visitors a 22nd-minute lead, but Boco hit back with an equaliser from Liam Powell, whose shot sped through a crowded box to finish in the net. Jake Slocombe converted a secondhalf penalty to put Boco in front, only for Dan Brain to level with an overhead kick in added time.
