Hockey Polly’s second-half goal is a winning one for Robinsons
IN National Conference West, Clifton Robinsons 2nds defeated visitors Oxford University 2-1.
A Dayzee Moss goal after 15 minutes gave the home side the lead, which they held until the interval.
The students equalised in the second half, before Polly Pyke scored the winner in the 63rd minute.
In the same division, University of Bristol lost 5-1 against Basingstoke. Hattie Barnes gave the local side a sixth-minute lead, but the visitors scored three goals before the interval. Two further goals in the second half earned Basingstoke a comfortable win.
On Saturday, Clifton Robinsons 2nds host Cheltenham at Golden Hill (2pm), while the students are at home to second-placed Exe at Coombe Dingle, also 2pm.
Clifton Robinsons resume National League action in Investec Premier Division on Saturday with an away game against Beeston. Claire Thomas’ side, who are in fifth spot, will be looking to get above Buckingham, who are just a point ahead in fourth position.

Westbury/Utd Banks Warriors and Widgets suffered heavy defeats - the Warriors lost 6-0 against Clifton Robinsons E and the Widgets succumbed to Mendip A 5-0.
