Food wholesaler starts home delivery service

-

PEOPLE in Bristol can now take advantage of two new services launched by a food wholesaler.

The home delivery and call and collect services, called ‘Food Shop’, have been introduced by Brakes as it steps up its response to supporting the government’s efforts to maintain food supplies to the population.

The services offer more than 6,000 products including bread, dairy, desserts, drinks, snacks, store cupboard items, seafood, meat and poultry, frozen vegetables, ready meals and more, meaning that consumers can benefit from the same professional products that chefs use, including home essentials and well-known brands.

Adam Collett, who is the UK Marketing Director at Brakes, said: “By launching home delivery and call & collect we will be able to take some of the pressure off local supermarkets and, by offering consumers the option to buy bigger packs, and in bulk, reduce the number of shopping trips that people need to make, which supports government advice on minimising social contact.

“We are also aware that despite increasing their number of home delivery slots supermarkets are finding it hard to keep up with demand and so many consumers are struggling to get deliveries from their normal provider.

“Our home delivery service gives consumers another option.”

To arrange a home delivery, consumers simply need to visit the Brakes website, place an order online and choose their delivery day from those available. A member of Brakes telesales team will then call to take payment by card. There is a minimum order value of £75 and a maximum of £1,000 with consumers limited to no more than ten packs of any one product.

Call and collect customers will be given a unique order number and can collect the next day (Monday to Friday) with a collection slot allocated anytime between 9am and 3pm. The Brakes ‘Food Shop’ is situated at Portbury Way, Royal Portbury Dock.
