one Last thing...

THIS week’s minor lockdown drama saw me break my glasses. Disaster.

Time was I had 20/20 vision. Now I lean into the available daylight to decipher instructions on the back of soup tins before giving up and finding my gigs.

Except this time when I picked them up an arm fell off. Superglue got me through for a couple of days before the optician managed to secure another pair of frames.

Triumphant, I returned home and popped my glasses on. But what was this? What had he done? Everything was fuzzy. I couldn’t see a thing. Had he put the wrong lenses in?

Then I realised – the lenses were fine. They were just in the new frames. I was wearing my old ones and squinting through fresh air.

I’m not sure it’s just my eyesight that needs a test.
