YEAR ZERO #
EVERY story that deals with a plague feels a little near the knuckle right now, but at least this one has zombies.
Offering a global look at the Zombie Apocalypse, Wolverine writer Ben Percy brings us this survival story.
Five mismatched people, a Japanese hitman, a Mexican street urchin, an Afghan military aide, a Polar research scientist, and a midwestern American survivalist, all survivors of a horrific global epidemic must draw on their unique skills and deepest instincts to navigate a world of shambling dead.
With art by Ramon Rosanas, Year Zero #1 is out now, £3.60.
WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS
HIT mockumentary horror comedy,
What We Do in the Shadows has been given a third series.
Based on the 2014 movie written and directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, it follows the lives of four vampires sharing a house in New York.
Starring British actors Matt Berry, and Kayvan Novak, the show has been a huge hit with American audiences on FX.
The second series, which features guest star Mark Hamill, is due to air on BBC2 later this year.
FUNKOWEEN
IT’S still May, but the guys at Funko have their eyes squarely fixed on Halloween.
A whole new series of spooky themed Pops! have been revealed, including Tim Burton’s much-loved Corpse Bride, and Edward Scissorhands.
There’s even a Halloween countdown calendar, with a horror-themed Pint Sized Hero lurking behind each window.
But my favourite has to be Spikey, Jumbo, and Shorty, below – the Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
