Life’s become a minefield

OH, what tangled webs we weave! An In Brief column in the Post earlier this month contained an article about an online poll where 3,000 mostly female adults indicated that people would prefer the use of the terms “weight”, “unhealthy weight”, and “overweight” as opposed to “chubby”, “fat” and “overlarge”. You are what you are, no matter how you dress it up.

Many people are trying to create a sterile world where no one is offended (or perceived to be offended!). This would eradicate 99% of humour and conversation. What a way to live!

Life has become a minefield of political correctness and I’m glad I won’t be around when this toxic environment completely overwhelms our planet in years to come.

I’m sorry to be such a moaning minnie, but I’m glad I got this of my chest. Normal service will resume in the near future.
