District Rendall does the trick for Boco against Patchway

KARIM Rendall thumped a treble as AEK Boco A’s sizzling start to their Bristol and District Senior Division quest continued.

The marksman, famed for scoring the fastest recorded hat-trick in English football - 96 seconds and all in stoppage-time while playing for Roman Glass St George in the Western League in 2012, displayed much of that panache to see off visiting Patchway Town Reserves 4-0 at Greenbank Road, to make it two wins from two following Boco’s 6-1 away mauling of Greyfriars Athletic Reserves. Simon Knight scored the other goal.

Totterdown United Reserves, Boco’s next opponents, approach the match in good heart too after securing their maiden win of the season following three losses, a 7-1 away romp over Greyfriars Athletic Reserves. James Kearle (3), Josh Knight, Justin Barry, Toby Carter and Jack Wensley scored for Totterdown, while Terry Caswell notched for the hosts.

Fry Club A overcame Henbury

Reserves 3-2 on their travels through Danny Williams, Paul Cutter and George Gitsham goals, as James Shaw’s brace kept the home side in the contest.

Highridge United Reserves had Ricky Briggs’ equaliser to thank for earning them a point from a 1-1 home draw with Chipping Sodbury Town A, who had snatched the lead 30 minutes from time.

In a lively eight-goal encounter, reigning Division One champions Stapleton had Kane Mannings’ triple and Harry Selman and Luke Clarke contributi­ons earning them a 5-3 away victory over Lawrence Rovers, who had Kai Holmes, Chris Hind and Andy Mathias on the scoresheet.

AFC Mangotsfie­ld District got their season off to a fine start with a 4-2 home defeat of Seymour United Reserves via Owen Ridler’s double and Jordan Powell and Ross Porter strikes.

In Division One, Bradley Stoke Town Reserves followed up their 4-0 away defeat of Tormarton with a 7-1 crushing of Brimsham Green on the road once more through

Sean Fahey and Ashley Rogers-Milburn braces, plus Kane Head, Russ Whiting and Ben Brindle singles. Jonny Davies scored for Green.

Dave Hodge and Dan Lamb goals ensured Bristol Barcelona backto-back wins with a 2-1 home victory over Sea Mills Park Reserves, while early pacesetter­s Hambrook Reserves, unbeaten after four outings, were grateful to Loukas Kouzaris (2), Josh Cook and Eric Davies for brushing aside Iron Acton Reserves 4-1 on home soil.

Ashley Stockham scored for Hartcliffe in a 5-1 defeat at home to high-riding Old Sodbury.

Alex Moores scored twice for Lion in a 3-2 defeat to Lawrence Weston, whose goals came from also Josh Clear (2) and Finley Gainer.

DRG SV Frenchay Reserves have made a storming start to their Division Two mission, capitalisi­ng on a 10-1 first-day assault on Greyfriars A with a 4-1 away defeat of Bendix through Joey Sterling’s double and Ryan Kibane and Shadrach Twum-Barima goals. Harry Madder registered for the hosts.

Andy Edwards and Chris Dent supplied the ammunition as Fry Club B steadied up after two heavy early reverses by holding Cribbs B to a 2-2 draw at Somerdale.

Bradley Stoke Town A raced to a third win from three with a 4-1 away defeat of Highridge United A, thanks to Andy Turner, Cian Harris, Chris Evans and Tom Dawes efforts, as Callum Lewis replied for Highridge.

Nicholas Wanderers A set their season underway with three points delivered by two goals apiece from James Laver and Jacob Cleverley, and Jon Mason and Dan Cox efforts, in a 6-2 home win over Greyfriars, who responded with Ryan Cronin and Peter Smith strikes. Shaftesbur­y Crusade Reserves were indebted to Zayne Simpson’s goal for maintainin­g their undefeated four-match march since the off with a 1-1 away draw against Stoke Lane Athletic.

Winterbour­ne United Reserves are going well too, as Paul May’s penalty and Liam Williams and Martin Bobok goals made it four wins from four for the Division Two leaders courtesy of a 3-1 Parkside Avenue win over Mendip Broadwalk A.

AFC Grace took little comfort from Dan Thatcher and Josh Johns goals in Division Three as AFC Mangotsfie­ld District Reserves, another to have won all four of their early outings, cruised to an 8-2 victory on their travels.

Hanham Athletic Vets had a 7-3 home victory over Iron Acton A, thanks to Mike Alvis and Lee Moore hat-tricks and Luke Clapp’s goal. Mark Platt (2) and Kieran Davies scored for Acton.

Mike Farley celebrated a double and Aldo Marku, Andrew Cutting, Dominic Parish and Zac Tucker weighed in to help maintain hosts Oldland Abbotonian­s Colts’ perfect three-match start with a 6-2 success over winless De Veys Reserves.

Longwell Green Sports B are going well too undefeated, as Ethan Platts, Charlie Tomlin, Fraser Joyner and Teo Rolando goals suggests after a 4-2 away victory over Seymour United A, who had Elliot Brown and an own goal on target.
