Streets flooded as water main bursts

-

SEVERAL properties were left without water yesterday after a burst water main in Bristol.

Hundreds of people were affected for about four hours on Wednesday night as streets were flooded – with some properties still without water yesterday morning.

The problem began at around 7pm, with the city centre around Victoria Street covered in water.

At around 10.30pm Bristol Water tweeted: “Everyone (but a few in BS4 while pressure builds back up) should now be back in water. The water main will be repaired tomorrow.”

Fire crews from Hicks Gate station helped clear the floodwater and prevent more properties from being flooded.
