Help stay Covid safe the ecofriendly way

CHEEKY PANDA’S BAMBOO RANGE IS PERFECT FOR HYGIENE ON THE GO – AND IT WON’T COST US THE EARTH

-

It’s been the strangest start to the academic year that pupils – and their parents – have ever experienced.

From masks outside the school gates to “bubbles” inside them, kids and adults are adapting to the new normal as they head back to school and, in some cases, the workplace.

Now, as we take tentative steps back into the world, we’re also having to step up our efforts to protect ourselves and our communities against coronavirus.

And with antibacterial wipes more popular than ever before, and NHS guidance advising us to sneeze into tissues, it’s no surprise that these products, plus toilet roll, are again top of many people’s shopping lists.

NATURAL RESOURCES

This is, however, putting even more strain on the planet’s natural resources. The demand for tissue products over the years has had a devastating effect on our planet, resulting in the felling of 27,000 trees each day, and the destruction of huge swathes of forest in countries such as Sweden and Canada, as manufacturers source virgin wood, the pulp of which is used in traditional paper production.

So, with the products we need to get through the next six months and beyond potentially having such a huge impact on the environment, how can we stick to the guidelines without it costing the earth?

One option is to use tissue items sourced from sustainable materials, such as The Cheeky Panda’s bamboo range, which offers “on the go” products that allow users to be eco-friendly as well as safe.

With Amazon No. 1 bestselling products such as pocket tissues, antibacterial, facial tissues and, of course, toilet roll, the brand has won accolades both for the quality of its goods and its innovative approach to solving a rapidly increasing problem.

Co-founders Chris Forbes and wife Julie Chen were inspired to start The Cheeky Panda during a trip to Asia in 2016, when they discovered that there was a huge surplus of naturally sustainable bamboo that was simply going to waste.

Growing 30 times faster than trees, producing 30 per cent more oxygen and absorbing 35 per cent more carbon, bamboo is the fastestgrowing plant in the world, making it one of the most eco-friendly options on the market when it comes to tissue products.

The best news is a growing

number of online and stores, are now stocking the products. So, when you wave your little one off at the school gates, why not do it knowing they have a Cheeky Panda supply in their pockets? Safe, sustainable and easily available, it may be the best thing you’ll do for the planet this year.
