BRAVE NEW WORLD
Sky One, 9pm
IT MAY sometimes feel like we’re actually living in a dystopian nightmare, so this latest dramatisation of Aldous Huxley’s 1932 novel might make you feel better – or worse.
Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown Findlay stars in the gripping thriller about a perfect future society where everyone lives in harmony.
“Welcome to New London. We have three rules. No privacy. No Family. No Monogamy. Everyone is happy.”
Except of course they are not remotely happy. Tension is bubbling under the surface, cracks in society are beginning to show and unrest is on the cards.
Brown Findlay plays Lenina
Crowne,
reprimanded for having an exclusive sexual relationship. “No need for shame,” says her boss Bernard Marx (Harry Lloyd), giving her a pill. Elsewhere, there’s an adventure theme park called The Savage Lands, only 11 minutes away by rocket, an insight into the “misery of the old world”.
Look out for Demi Moore, whose character lives in The Savage Lands as an outcast.
