District Mangotsfie­ld District end Longwell Green’s unbeaten start

AFC Mangotsfie­ld District made it three wins from three in the Senior Division with a 6-2 home defeat of a Longwell Green Sports A outfit who dropped their first points of the campaign.

James Cox and Owen Ridler both celebrated doubles and Luke Saward and Liam Porter also scored for Mangotsfie­ld.

Highridge United Reserves also continue to perform impressive­ly as they returned to the Senior Division summit with a 5-2 away victory over Henbury.

Driven on by man of the match central midfielder Jimmy Smedley, United scored through Ricky Briggs (2), Jack Knight, Sam George and Leon Mansaray, much to the delight of Highridge’s management team of Dean and Adrian Perry who enjoyed a “great performanc­e” by their charges. Henbury had Tom Butt and an own goal to thank for their contributi­ons.

In Division One, Dan Lamb scored both goals as Bristol Barcelona racked up a fourth straight win with a 2-0 home victory over winless but battling bottom side Hanham Athletic Reserves.

At Moorend Road, visiting Lawrence Weston maintained their 100 per cent form by crushing Hambrook Reserves 9-1 through Josh Pearce’s five goals and Brad Pearce, Dan Dyte, Finlay Gayner and Treydon Merrett strikes.

Harrison Young hit both goals as Thornbury Town Reserves took their own unbroken winning stretch since the off to three games via a 2-0 away defeat of Iron Acton Reserves.

It was a similar outcome at Southmead Road where Lion were beaten 2-0 by Grant Day and Jonny Davies goals for a Brimsham Green team enjoying back-to-back successes.

Olveston United Reserves pinned their first points to the board in clinical fashion, as Harry Smith’s pair and George Kent, Chris Barnes, Sam Russell and James Moore efforts saw them to a 6-0 home victory over Hartcliffe.

Sea Mills Park also hit six to see off Tormarton 6-3 at Kingswesto­n, and climb into fourth place, through William Baldwin’s brace and Jesse Bailey, Ross Tippins, Josh Seymour and Luke Gardiner goals.

Winterbour­ne United Reserves are going to take some stopping again, as their 10-1 Parkside Avenue mauling of Greyfriars Athletic A exemplifie­d. Dan Edwards led the spree with five of Bourne’s goals; Kieran Joseph delivered a double and Sean Cooper, Liam Williams and Liam Sheppard all weighed in to keep their relentless team firmly pegged to Division Two top spot.

Fry Club B were indebted to Oli Murphy, Kyle Dean Paget and Martin Gronow goals as they notched a first win of the season with a 3-1 Somerdale success against Bendix, who had Harry Madder on target.

Mendip Broadwalk A secured a second win of their programme as Josh Jewell and Matthew Baggot braces, and Kane Hancock, Del Shepherd and James Leslie strikes, swept them past Cribbs B 7-3 at the victors’ Creswicke Road base.

Jacob Cleverley and James Laver were among the scoring as Nicholas Wanderers A made it two wins from two by beating Highridge United A 4-0 at Dundridge Park.

DRG SV Frenchay Reserves were grateful to Jardell HartleyKee­ling, Kenneth Nteghe and James Bourton goals as they overcame early strugglers Pucklechur­ch Sports Reserves 4-1 to extend their winning streak since the start to three games.

In Division Three, AFC Grace had Matt Churchill’s strike and two own goals in a 9-3 home defeat to Fishponds Athletic.

Unbeaten leaders AFC Mangotsfie­ld District Reserves were indebted to Aaron Jones, Chris Astley and Joe Alston goals for edging them past hosts De Veys Reserves 3-2, while a ten-goal thriller in Keynsham ended with Seymour United A eventually putting paid to Fry Club C 6-4.

Fry’s goals came from Joe Vile’s double and John Hirst and Marlon Dorsett efforts.
