Suburban Fast start sets up emphatic win for Redbridge

THREE goals in the first five minutes from M Ollis, G Brown and J Oliver gave promoted Redbridge a flying start in a 7-1 home win over Bristol Bilbao in the Senior Division.

Brown went on to complete a hat-trick with Ollis and Oliver each scoring a second goal, as Redbridge maintained their 100 per cent record. Cory Clark replied for Bilbao.

Ridings High moved up to third place with a 4-3 victory at Pomphrey Hill against Bromley Heath United Reserves, whose goals came from Ellis Barnes, Luke Healey and Dan Fowler.

At the Field, Almondsbur­y Reserves gained a second win of the season, 5-3, against AFC Brislingto­n Reserves, while Bristol Telephones Reserves also picked up their second win with a 6-1 home success over Southmead CS Athletic.

Lewis Pratten scored four goals for Jamaica Bell in a 6-2 win at home to bottom side Stockwood Wanderers Reserves. Jon Westwood and George Holgate scored their other goals. MPK Lofts beat Ashton United 5 0.

In Premier One, Stoke Gifford United are in pole position on goal difference after a 6-1 win at AFC Mangotsfie­ld.

The only team with a 100 per cent record are Parson Street OB who beat Lawrence Weston Athletic 6-0 at Ashton Vale, thanks to strikes from Issac Sullyman (2), Lee Pitman, Aaron Price and Aaron Shelby, plus an own goal.

Jack Willmot and Taylor Anderson scored for Filton Athletic in a 2-1 home win over Rockleaze Rangers Reserves.

Stoke Rangers gained their first Premier Division success with a 5-1 home win over Avonmouth. James Fitzpatric­k, Russ Church, Joe Weare, Shane Heal and Ash Harrington were on target for Rangers.

Bristol Spartak bounced back from last week’s heavy defeat to win by the only goal at Old Georgians.

Josh Mitchell, Joey Haines and Dan Crawford were the Old Cothamians marksmen in a 3 1 triumph at Easton Cowboys.

The top two teams in Division One met at Cosmos with the home team running out 3-1 winners against previous leaders AFC Mangotsfie­ld Reserves to go three points clear at the top. Joel Dacosta, Cata Dragotoiu and Vlad Bugnar scored for Cosmos.

In what is believed to be a record for the Bristol Suburban League, four players, Joe Banks, Alfie Hemmings, Jak Pullinger and Billy RiceHanson, completed hat-tricks as second-placed Broad Plain House maintained their 100 per cent record with a 12-2 home win over Wanderers Reserves.

Another high-scoring team were Imperial Reserves who beat St Aldhelms Reserves 11-1. Tom Bull led the scoring with a hat-trick, with Sean Pearce, Ben Pococh and Josh Day each scoring twice. Nick Bennett and Steve Gamblin added th eother goals.

Two goals from Joel Edwards and one from Will Webster earned Old Cothamians Reserves a point after a 3-3 draw with visitors Stoke Gifford United Reserves, while Rockleaze Rangers A are up to fourth after beating Filton Athletic Reserves 4-2.

Division Two leaders St Vallier dropped two points in a goalless draw at Cutters Friday Reserves, who gained their first point of the season. Second-placed Bristol Phoenix drew 1-1 at Old Georgians Reserves. Oscar Gue scored for Phoenix, while Tom Price replied.

Gary Cripps scored twice to help Stokeside into third place courtesy of a 5-3 home win over Rockleaze Rangers B. Adam Brunt, Craig Hopkins and Jonny Doidge completed their scoring. Avonmouth Reserves gained their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with Broad Plain House Reserves.

Brae Williams struck four times as Cadbury Heath Reserves maintained their 100 per cent record with a 5-3 win at Lockleaze Community. Jamal Simms completed their scoring.

Parson Street OB Reserves travelled to Lawrence Weston Athletic Reserves and returned with all three points after a 2-1 win, with goals from Ian Weston and Luke McBurney.

Division Three leaders Bedminster Down had six different goalscorer­s in an 8-0 home win over Easton Cowboys A.

Matt Wood and David Thorne bagged braces and there was a goal apiece for Liam Needs, Dan Vear, Shay Wood and Matt Cranton.

The game between Brentry Athletic and Socius United was abandoned after 68 minutes after a serious leg injury to Dave Bennett of Socius, who were leading 6-0 at the time.
