Clevedon keep perfect start to the season going

CLEVEDON Family Church maintained their 100 per cent start to their Churches League campaign with a 6-2 win against VCF Santos at Elm Park.

James Mills and Charlie Hurt scored for Santos, who trailed 3-1 at the break.

Thornbury Baptist bounced back from defeat to Clevedon to stay top of the table with a 4-2 home win against Bath Churches United .

Aidan Maddox (2), James Cooke and Toby Williams scored for Thornbury, with Rob Rust and Joe Little on target for Bath.

Castle Green won 7-1 against Cairns Road Corinthian­s at Johnsons Lane, thanks to goals from Luke Gibbons (2), Michael Alvis (2), David Achu, Joseph Gardner and Akin Oyelekan. Ben Doherty scored Corinthian­s’ consolatio­n.

Hat-tricks from Matthew Paramore and James Roberts gave Edge Church a 6-4 win against Woodlands United on the Patchway Community College 3G.

In Division Two, Rock Crusaders suffered a first defeat of the season after going down 4-2 at fellow highfliers Spartak Woodlands .

Dan Viner, Sam Carter and Joshua Hoskins scored for Spartak, who also benefited from an own goal, while Ashtoon Coleman and Rui Fernandes were the Rock marksmen.

Woodlands Academy had goals from Mahad Hashi, Barnaby Moore and Isaac Waller in a 3-0 victory at Nailsea Churches .

Four goals from Tate Shaw, plus one each from Jordan Dowe and Adam Nash, secured a 6-5 win for Edge Church A at home to Castle Green Reserves , who replied through Callum Evans (3) and Luke Tucker (2).

Clevedon Family Church Reserves eased to a 9-2 wn at Real St George Reserves , with goals from Jonathan Stubbs (4), Ben Harris (3), Jonathan Dawson and Conor Thompson. Liam Antonio Orchard and Shaun Griffin scored for the home side.
