Man with virus went on mini pub crawl

-

POLICE have fined a man who visited three pubs when he should have been self-isolating.

The Portishead 35-year-old went on his mini pub crawl on Saturday, September 19, and he subsequently tested positive for coronavirus.

The man was still within the 14-day self-isolation period when he visited the Poachers and the Old Mill, in Portishead, and the Royal Oak in Nailsea on September 19.

He was supposed to be in quarantine following a return from holiday abroad.

Old Mill’s landlord, who did not wish to be named, told the Post he was unaware of the man’s visit when we called him on September 30.

The Poacher closed from last Thursday to Sunday because the landlady Sian Powell heard a “rumour” of the pub crawl, before she was contacted by police. The Royal Oak was contacted by police on Thursday evening.
