Infection rates in Bristol area
MORE than 15 neighbourhoods in the Bristol area recorded double figures for coronavirus cases over recent days.
Public Health England data shows Bristol city centre is the place in the city to have recorded the most positive Covid-19 test results between October 3 and October 9 (the most recently available data), with 66 positive tests in the area, closely followed by Stoke Bishop (65).
In Bristol, neighbourhoods with high student populations had the most positive tests.
This comes as up to three-quarters of all the people in Bristol who have tested positive for coronavirus in the past six days have been students at the University of Bristol.
Other areas to have seen higher infection rates include Frenchay & Great Stoke (32), Cotham (22), Kingsdown & Stokes Croft (19) and Redland & St Andrew’s (16).

The vast majority of neighbourhoods in Bristol and South Gloucestershire had at least three cases.
In South Gloucestershire, there were five exceptions – Yate North, Yate South, Stoke Gifford, Thornbury South and Charfield, Wickwar & Iron Acton – where each had between zero and two cases.
In Bristol, the only inner city areas to have fewer than three cases were Southville, Totterdown and St George.
Only one area in North Somerset had double figures for cases in the latest week. Weston Hillside had the most, with ten – up from nine.
