Murrays among the goals on 3 Lions derby day

AS derbies go you can’t anything more local than a tussle between two teams from the same ‘local’ pub.

Such was the case at Hengrove Athetic’s Norton Lane ground last Sunday, as the 3 Lions beat 3 Lions Reserves 6-2 in a clash between the two sides from the Bedminster pub.

The first team were led to victory by the father-and-son combinatio­n of Scott and Jay Murray, with the former Bristol City star scoring one goal and his teenage son bagging a hat-trick. Jamie Johnson scored the other two for 3 Lions, who top the Bristol Premier Sunday League Premier Division with an unblemishe­d record from four games.

Bristol Weston United made it four wins from five games with a 7-6 success at Tytheringt­on Rocks Sunday. Tyler Jackson hit a hattrick and there were two goals apiece from Raphael Waugh and Josh Morgan-Williams for the victors.

Galenicals won 5-0 at SWYD United, thanks to a hat-trick from Parvez Nadaie, Harvey Johnson and William Marsh.

Harrison Donachie and Jacob Watson were among the scorers as Cutters Friday Sunday won 3-1 at Sportsman.

Senior Division table-toppers Bristol Academia have yet to concede a goal in four games following a 3-0 victory against Lawrence

Weston Athletic. Kenley Common, Otis Francis and Liam Downer scored the goals.

Second-placed Lockstock United won 5-1 at Air Legends, with a treble from Shontay Campbell and a double from Conor Hartley. Tyrell Ballard replied.

Breakaways had goals from Richard Prynn (2), Dave Pike and Darryl Towler in a 4-2 home success against AFC Lodekka.

Kingswood Athletic won 4-2 at home to Bristol Jaguars, thanks to goals from Mark Horton, Aiden James, Charlie Millard and Kyle Thomas. Denis Tadas-Masiulis and Jordan Smith were the Jaguars’ marksmen.

Little Stoke OB won 8-3 against

Warwick on Hanham Common, via goals from Michael Bojski (2), Adam Porter (2), Kieran Terry (2), Shamus Arndell and Dan Turner. The hosts replied through Josh Meacock, Robbie Snowden and Joe Weston.

In Division One, two goals apiece from Keaton Cook and Joe Hillard gave leaders Borussia Bristol a 4-3 home win against Hanham Cricket, whose goals came from Josh Hughes, Daniel Jackson and Elliott Pugsley.

Yate Rangers gained a fourth win of the campaign with a 6-3 home win against Longreach Athletic, with goals from Adam Thurston (4), Kieran Davis and Scott Strauss. Matthew Troth (2) and Jamie Elliott scored for the visitors.

Cutters Friday A drew 2-2 at home to Tidenham Sunday, who had strikes from Joshua Charles and Arilson Zaro.

Division Two leaders Mendip Broadwalk had goals from Ben Collins, Ty-Owen Goodall and Danny Lock in a 3-0 win at Bristol Argyle. A hat-trick from Sam Moore, plus strikes from James Donegan and Sean Quirke, gave second-placed Whitchurch a 5-2 win at Shadwell Rovers, who responded through Alexandry Vatavu and Kristopher Stevens.

Signal Generals had two goals from Ben Conway and one from Sam Wright in a 3-0 home win against Fishponds Town Wizards.

In Division Three, Sporting QTAC dropped points for the first time this season with a 1-1 draw at Longreach Athletic Reserves, for whom Khoben Mowthorpe scored.

Second-placed Tidenham Sunday Reserves also had to settle for a point after being held 2-2 at home by Hambrook United. Kai Williams and Janderly Magalhaes scoref for the home side, with Mark Bragg and an own goal making up the Tidenham tally.

A hat-trick from Aaron Turner, plus goals from Thomas Garland and Tyler Williams, secured a 5-1 home win for AFC Sodbury Reserves against Bristol Blues, whose goal came from Chris Lambert. Hanham Athletic Sunday were indebted to strikes from Matthew Bryant (2), Joe Hudson (2), Lucas Hart and Sam Price for a 6-3 home win against BAWA Sports, who replied through a Zac Mace hat-trick.

Unbeaten Division Four leaders Bristol Union won 8-0 against Spartans Reserves, while secondplac­ed Badocks Wood hammered Southmead Sunday 13-4.

Bristol Spartak are in third place following a 7-1 home win against Digital Dash, with goals from Josh Humber (3), Rico Williams (2), Chad Jenkins and Liam Milkins.

Michael Alvis hit a hat-trick as DRG Frenchay won 3-1 at home to South Bristol, whose goal came from Callum Gaylard.
