Rockleaze turn up the heat on Cribbs

-

ROCKLEAZE Rangers moved to within three points of leaders Cribbs with a 3-0 victory over them on a great pitch at The Lawns.

Rockleaze played with a highintensity and went 3-0 up in the first half.

Sid Bass opened the scoring with a flick over goalkeeper after 10 minutes. Alfie Luing hit the second with a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner of the net, and on 35 minutes Joe Robson dribbled past three defenders and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper.

The second half saw Cribbs push to get back into the game but some fine saves from Ellis Prewitt kept the scoreline as it was at half-time.

In Division One, Highridge United won 3-0 at Port of Bristol.

Both teams were confident on the ball and retained possession well. After 15 minutes, Highridge opened the scoring when a long punt was picked up by Connor Westerside and he skipped past a defender and lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper.

Ferdinand Symons tapped in the rebound from a Conner Westerside shot to make it 2-0. Then, in the second half, Jack Cousins smashed home the third to secure victory for Highridge.

In Division Two, Chipping Sodbury Town gained a 2-0 success at Clifton Hawks.

The deadlock was broken when Sodbury’s Jamie Thompson nodded the ball home after a free-kick had been parried by the Hawks goalkeeper. At the other end, the Hawks attacked with purpose, and created many chances without seriously troubling the goalkeeper.

As the second half developed, more and more of the play was in the Chipping Sodbury half of the pitch, with midfielder Jake Morris in good form for Hawks.

Sodbury went 2-0 up when a back-pass was underhit and Edward Walters nipped in to score.

Chew Valley enjoyed a 6-0 home win against Fry Wanderers.

Chew Valley took the lead in the 11th minute when Freddie Gwyther curled a free-kick into the top corner of the net.

Jack Hallett set up Sam Barlow to score Valley’s second goal three minutes into the second half.

Valley claimed a third in the 58th minute when Hallett scored, with an assist from Marco Madaras.

Barlow scored his second of the game to give Valley a four-goal lead, and further strikes Madaras and Archie Harding completed an emphatic win.
