Changing lives
AIRBUS COMMUNITY AWARDS RETURN
CORONAVIRUS has had a huge impact on all our lives, but for organisations and charities depending on volunteers and donations, the effect has been devastating.
Earlier this year, the Bristol Post launched the Airbus Community Awards to seek out the unsung heroes of our community and reward them.
The awards were put on hold in March due to the pandemic but today we are relaunching the awards and again giving community groups the chance to secure funding for vital projects.
Almost 50 community groups and charities are looking for your help to win a share of £20,000 for a project that will help change lives.
An Airbus spokesperson said: “We were very sad to have had to pause the awards back in March due to the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
“However, taking into consideration the current climate with regards to the pandemic, we are pleased to be able to continue with the awards which will now be relaunched with an online voting system.
“Unfortunately we are unable to access any postal votes that have been submitted and only online votes will now be counted. We are very sorry that your efforts in collecting the paper votes will not be counted, but hope that you understand and agree that health and safety is paramount in this current situation.”
Ten successful groups will be given funding from £1,000 to £7,000 – and we need your help to choose who wins.
From today until November 9, you can vote for your favourite from the registered groups named below. The ten that receive the most online votes will win a share of the funds.
The ten winning groups will each receive prizes, ranging from £1,000 to £7,000.
» 1st prize £7,000
» 2nd prize £4,000
» 3rd prize £2,000
» Seven runners up receive £1,000 each.
