BRISTOL CITY PLAYER RATINGS

-

DAN BENTLEY - 7

After having no saves to make in midweek, was called into action to deny a driven effort from Ayew in the first half that looked to come off his chest. Lowe’s finish was exquisite to rocket past him in the second period.

ZAK VYNER - 7

Lovely sliding challenge on Roberts after 20 minutes, and a lovely deep cross for Martin to hook at goal in the first half. TOMAS KALAS - 8

The recalled skipper nipped in when Lowe threatened in the box early on and made a brilliant block to deny Ayew just after Swansea had opened the scoring. TAYLOR MOORE - 5

Shifted to the left with Mawson missing and robbed of possession after half-anhour in another mistake in the wrong area of the pitch. A poor pass minutes later then saw the Swans on the counterattack. Looked unstable at times before he was swapped for Diedhiou late on. STEVEN SESSEGNON - 6

Volleyed at goal from 30 yards out on 26 minutes and first to several challenges in the first half to merit his inclusion. But carried off on a stretcher in the second half as the Robins problems on the treatment table mount up.

JAMIE PATERSON - 7

Showed those snake hips when he cleverly darted through the Swansea defence to go one-on-one with Woodman but shot tamely. Several late shots at goal, although he may have been better passing at times.

CHRIS BRUNT - 6

Tidied up well in front of the defence and the economy of movement was offset by some good passes fizzed into the feet of Semenyo and others. Lovely arcing freekick for Moore’s header and gave City the option of the longer pass.

ANDI WEIMANN - 5

Little involvement in the first half and unable to burst beyond the front two as City couldn’t retain the ball well enough to then find him. Overran the ball at times before limping off on 65 minutes.

JAY DASILVA - 5

The left-back made his first league start of the season and showed a few glimpses of the skills that characterise his game. Involved in an odd moment as he tried to head the ball back to Bentley but the ball was almost running along the floor. Didn’t effect the game enough and Roberts arguably got the better of him.

ANTOINE SEMENYO - 6

Gave energy to the frontline and his pressing was very good as he barrelled through several challenges, though his touch wasn’t always the best. Tried to set up Martin after Swansea scored and was unable to meet Sessegnon’s good cross in the first half. Won the penalty, however. CHRIS MARTIN - 6

Was left isolated up front at times but still displayed a sure touch to keep the ball when needed. Almost made the most of a Sessegnon cross in the first half. Fed off scraps thereafter.

SUBSTITUTES

CALLUM O’DOWDA (for Weimann, 64 mins) - 5

The Irishman came on to play down the right flank and add some quality but he was unable to truly affect the game and slipped over when he did get into a good position in the penalty area.

F AMARA DIEDHIOU (for Sessegnon, 71 mins) - 6

The Senegalese forward replaced the injured wing-back with City shuffling about to a 3-4-3. Made it difficult. NAHKI WELLS (for Moore, 78 mins) - n/a

Scored his third goal of the season as he slammed down the middle of the goal with seven minutes to go, in cool fashion. NOT USED: Jack Hunt, Max O’Leary, Tommy Rowe, Tyreeq Bakinson.
