Science of disentrainment
A STRATEGY which UK authorities rejected in dealing with corona pandemic, was to use scientific knowledge to kill viruses.
It is not possible to think of a disadvantage to manufacturing units which will incorporate Ultra Violet Light into the ventilation systems of cruise ships and passenger planes, since we know that UVL is lethal to all viruses.
Such a strategy does not threaten employment or mental health of the population, and can be applied in tandem with lockdown policies. The great virtue is that UVL can kill viruses in ventilation systems, before viruses get the chance to kill people. Obviously we could expand the application, to fit ventilation systems to schools and office blocks, with a variety of UVL units.
There are problems which we know of, that UVL will kill humans as well, but such possibilities can be avoided, if the electric power is cut off by any attempt to open the sealed unit.
We could create a huge prosperous industry by exporting such products to a world with this desperate need, provided the economic potential is recognised.
But probably the biggest problem is the British culture. Our economic beliefs, of directors and citizens, have no imagination beyond a profit, to perceive a world-breaking opportunity.
The science of Disentrainment, separating viruses from breath, as a tool to kill them, before they kill us, is a thousand times more complicated than UVL technology, and so may not serve our purpose. But the fact that the Government never chose this aggressive overall strategy in the first place, to kill viruses, by researching such fields, suggests that we never could make it work.
