FUTURE STATE: THE NEXT BATMAN #1
THE New Year sees a new event kick off for DC, looking at potential and possible futures for the DC Universe.
This series introduces Tim Fox – son of Lucius Fox – as Batman, who is fighting back against the militarised police force known as the Magistrate, which has locked down Gotham.
There’s also a turn from the Arkham Knights, former Arkham Asylum inmates turfed out onto the streets when the hospital was decommissioned.
Future State runs for just two months, but the event promises to be really interesting.
Kicking off with Future State: The Next Batman #1, it’s due out on January 5, priced £7.20.
NEW YEAR, NEW HORROR
THIS month sees the release of the latest book from celebrated gothic horror author Catherine Cavendish.

BLADE RUNNER: ORIGINS #1

Blade Runner painted a future vision of Los Angeles that was as bleak as it was beautiful.
Fans continue to be obsessed with the world in which the sci-fi masterpiece exists, and as it approaches its 40th anniversary, a new comic series is taking a look at where it all began.
Origins is set in 2009 and looks at the creation of the Blade Runners.
A Tyrell Corporation scientist has been found dead in an apparent suicide. But when LAPD Detective Cal is called in to investigate, he uncovers secret documents revealing a new kind of replicant and a conspiracy that could change the world.
Blade Runner: Origins #1 is due out on February 21, and priced £3.60.
